Can grow with Mica, Tourmaline, Smoky Quartz, and Moonstone; may have inclusions of Hematite, Pyrite, and Rutile

Commonly heat-treated to enhance blue and remove greenish color, especially in jewelry

Synthetic gemstones are known to be produced in Russia and the Czech Republic
